What this is

A place for me to share my thoughts and observations, hopefully reaching a wider audience than my previous Facebook posts and emails to groups of friends and acquaintances. These cover a range of topics, I hope in a dispassionate and fair way (you may be the judge). It is also a place for you to react to these.

All opinions are my own, I am not a spokesperson for any organization. My entries will draw on many sources which will probably not be given full credit (this is not a scholarly site). I read widely, but rarely take notes; if you find something here from you, thank you.

I may include some aspects of my main hobbies (travel and photography), but these are not the primary purpose.
